Art: For art I made a clay animation I did this by first making my clay figures then I also made the background out of clay. After I finished I started filming I had to take photo of every movement that my clay figure made. I made the clay animation based off of a myth that was spread by the towns people after he became famous. The myth was that Robert Johnson went to the crossroads and sold his soul to the devil. People spread this rumor because one night Robert went to a club because he wanted to play for the people there and make some money. But since Robert wasn't good at playing the guitar at first, nobody wanted to hear him play, so they kicked him out. Robert then left the club and walked off, nobody saw Robert again for a whole year. But one day Robert came back into town and when to a juke joint to play his music at first the people didn't want to hear him play because they thought he was still bad at playing. But after some talking the people let Robert play and they loved his music. Because Robert left for a year came back and was playing the guitar like no one had ever heard before people started to speculate that Robert went to the crossroads and sold his soul. Since this part of his life had such an impact on his career I want to show the myth that people were spreading through a short film. And since I've always wanted to make a clay stop motion animation film I thought that this would be a good idea.
English: For english I just typed an essay on Robert Johnson's more personal life, like his love life, his childhood, and how he became famous. I wanted to write the essay diving deep into Robert's personal life because other than Robert's music and how he became famous, nobody really knows anything about him. So I wanted to try and at least tell his whole story through a short essay. I started off the essay of how his mother and father met, and then I went through his childhood and how at an early age Robert wanted to do music and play the guitar instead of having to work the field like the rest of his family at the time. Because of this Robert and his father didn't have a good relationship. Then I talk about how as Robert got older he moved to the city to make money by playing the guitar on the side of the street. But Robert soon realized that the real money would be in a juke joint. Like I mentioned before when explaining my art project Robert went to a juke joint and tried to play but the people wouldn't let him and Robert stormed off. Towards the end of my essay I talk about Robert's life after he became famous in his town and how he let all of that fame and power go to his head, which eventually lead to this death.
Social studies: I made a mind map tying in how the Jim Crow era and Plessy v Ferguson affected Robert Johnson. My mind map showed how some of the laws on an affect on Robert Johnson. For example talked about how a lot of times these laws caused white people to get violent towards people of color and how Robert's parents were affected by this. Before Robert was born his mother was married to a man named Charles Dodds. Charles Dodds and Robert's mother were actually well off for a black family at the time, this was because Charles made money off of selling cotton. This made the other poor white people angry, so they formed a lynch mob and went after Charles Dodds and Robert's mother. Fortunately they were able to escape. Roberts mother ended up on a sharecropping farm and she remarried Robert's father and that's when they had Robert Johnson.

Art: For art I wanted to recreate a Faberge egg called Lillies of the Valley. Faberge eggs are just some of the treasures that the Romanov family loved to collect. Unfortunately there are only there are only 57 eggs that still exist out of the 69 that were made for the family. I started by 3d printing the shape of the egg, then I covered the egg in clay and painted it pink. After that I started sculpting the decorations on the egg (which were leaves), waited for the clay to dry and then the next day I painted the leaves green. After I was finished with that I started sculpting these things that look like vines with little white pearls on them, but on the real egg the vines are made out of gold. Instead of painting the vines a regular gold I used a gold sharpie to color them, then I used white to color the pearls. On the real Faberge egg there are four of the leaves with gold vines and pearls throughout the egg but because of time I only did two of these on each side of the egg. Before I started making the the decorations for the other side of the egg I wanted to sculpt the legs of the egg, but I quickly found out that was going to be very difficult and I also didn't have the time for that, so I ended up 3d printing them. Just like I did with the egg when the legs were finished printing I wrapped them in clay. After that I used the gold sharpie to color the legs, then I sculpted the decorations on the legs. After I finished making legs I continued working on the decorations for the other side of the egg. Since I had done this on the other side of the egg the first time and because of time I sculpted the leaves, vines, and some of the pearls at once. But the leaves didn't dry the way I wanted them to, so as a result the two sides of the egg kind of look different but other than that I think it turned out well. After everything dried I painted them. But as of now I am having trouble figuring out how I'm going to glue the legs into the egg, but other than that I am done making my egg.
English: For english I wrote a diary form the perspective of Grand Duchess Maria Romanov. I started the diary when the whole Romanov family and a few servants were taken into captivity, and just a few months before her and her whole family were killed. I made eight journal entires total, I started off the first journal entry with a little introduction to her situation and how she got there. The second one was her talking about what her daily life was like while being held captive in a house far from any people and being watched by soldiers. Maria had a real diary and it's said that she didn't write in it very much, so to try and make it feel like she was writing it I spaced out the times when she would write in her diary. In the third entry I wrote about Maria reflecting on events that has happened with her mother in the fast few years and how that had an affect on her mother. In real life Maria and her mother didn't really have a close relationship, It wasn't that they hated each other or anythings it was just that Maria's mother was busy taking care of Alexi the youngest child who has hemophilia. And in the third diary entry I have Maria talk about how she felt about these events and her mother. For the rest of the journal entries I have Maria talk about her family and her days being held captive, that is until the last two entries were things get really bad for her and her family. The last journal entry is Maria talking about how the guards are busting into her parents room yelling and giving orders, and how she is afraid something really bad is going to happen. This last journal entry is based off of the night she and her family were murdered in the basement of the house they were being held at.
Social Studies: For social studies I wrote a letter from the perspective of the a priest called Father Goergii Gapon and comparing the American Revolution to the Russian Revolution. This letter would be written to Tsar. In real life Father Goergii Gapon actually wrote a letter to the Tsar, Gapon hosted a peaceful protest to the royal palace to give the petition to the to the Tsar. But the Tsar had left the palace to take care of business a few days before, because of this the extra soldiers were brought in to protect the palace. When Gapon and the other people at the protest got to the palace, instead of hearing what the people had to say the soldiers opened fire on the protesters. This event would be known as Bloody Sunday and would cause the first Russian Revolution. I am basing the letter I am writing off of the real thing. In the letter made some similarities to how to American people felt when they were still under the control to of the British monarchy and how the Russian people felt living under the Romanov monarchy. I mostly focused on the Declaration of Independence when drawing similarities between the events. I started off my letter with introducing the problem and how the people of Russia felt. Then in the second paragraph I mention some of the demands that the people had that they wanted the Tsar to fix. Even though Gapon was very much for the people he still loved and resected the Tsar, so in the real letter I noticed that he made sure to mention that he and the people that follow him do not want to take the Tsar position or are after his power. In the next paragraph I start mentioning the similarities between the Declaration of Independence and the petition of Gaopn was writing. Then I end the letter with Gapon expressing how he loves and respects the Tsar but also demands change for his people.

Project #3
English: For english even though it took me a while I decided to write a diary from Jack the Ripper's perspective. I decided to do this because I really like writing a diary for my last project. At first I did I had trouble with how to write the diary because to not to make it seem generic I had to really dive deep into the mentality of a serial killer. For my research for this I watched documentaries about serial killers and how they killed people and their reasoning for it. I also watched movies about serial killers. Not only that but I also went a read articles about, what makes a serial killer?, the psychology of a serial killer, or can a serial killer be born or made?. I found that these topics is still being debated on by professionals. For example the main things that I focused on were if a serial killer can be born or made? and the psychology of a serial killer. During my research for if killers can be born or made, I found that killers can definitely be made but not so much born. For example a serial killer can be made by most likely childhood trauma, abuse from their parents or a traumatic event happening to them. I also found that scientists are still unsure if DNA is a factor is making a serial killer. I couldn't really find much research on if serial killers can be born. But I concluded that anyone is capable of killing if they are pushed to their breaking point. I started off the diary with a little bit of an introduction about Jack The Ripper and how he came to London East End. Throughout the diary I added comments on the side of the document connecting my research on serial killers to Jack The Ripper's life in the diary. I try to make clear in the beginning of the diary that he had mental illness.. I talk about his hatred for woman and how he even threatened his own sister with a knife at one point. He especially hated prostitutes. Then throughout the middle of the diary I talk about the killing of his victims and how that made him feel. Then at the end of the diary I go into how the police was starting to be a problem to him. Because before he was able to get away with killing his victims without even being suspected of doing anything. But now he was taken into custody for questioning about the killings but lucky for him the police could not connect him to the killings. This actually happened in real life. The police actually took him into custody but they weren't able to connect him with the killings. Then at the end of the diary I do a little time skip. So in real life after he killing five woman he suddenly stopped killing. Then a year later he was taken into a mental hospital and didn't get out after a few months. So at the end I have it were he spent some time in a mental hospital and he is talking about how he is worried that he won't be able to live freely anymore. I have it were after the last entry he was taken back into a mental hospital, just like in real life.
Social Studies: For social studies I changed my project kind of at the last minute. At first I was going to compare federal and state systems. But this idea didn't work for me so I changed it to if serial killers can have the right to vote. I was really having trouble with finding enough research for this topic. All that I could find was that it depended on that state if serial killers can vote. After doing some thinking I thought it would be a good idea for me to write a letter from a prisoners perspective on why they should vote. But After I had a meeting with one of my teachers, Mr. Wimmer, he also gave me the idea to write a persuasive essay on why I think that serial killers should not be able to vote. Because I was running out of time I thought it would be easier to go with the persuasive essay. I started off my essay with my main talking points which are that it's unfair to the victims families, most serial killers are not in the right state of mind, and that they shouldn't have the same rights as regular citizens because of the crimes they committed. I dedicated one paragraph to each of these talking points and I gave my reasoning of why I have my opinions.
Art: For art I wanted to make a sculpture of a drawing of Jack The Ripper walking away from investigators/police. For my research I watched videos on Youtube about sculpting figures of people. I mostly watched videos of this guy that has a channel called Ace Of Clay. He mostly dose sculptures of figures (not all of them are human figures). From these videos I learned a new method not only for sculpting figures but just sculpting in general. In the guys videos on Youtube when he starts by talking a wire and shaping out the arms, body, and the legs. Then he takes aluminum foil and wraps it around the wire to make the shape out the body. Once he is finished doing that he then puts glue around the aluminum foil to help the clay he is going to put around it stay on better. But I learned that you don't have to put glue around it, that only if you are going to put your figures in the oven. Once he is finished doing that he then wraps clay around the foil and starts actually sculpting. I decided that I would use this method to make my figures. I found this very useful because I didn't have to use as much clay. Now, I didn't have as much time to do my art project because of shipping issues. But I was given time to work on it after I presented, as long as I complete it before the semester ends. After I was done making the figures I had to make the background or street. For this I found a box at home I could use. I started by cutting out a side of the box along with the bottom. Then I used wood glue to help the clay stick on the box. (It took me a few days to put all of the clay on the box because of my scheduleI). I also had to wait a few days before I could paint the clay because I wanted the clay to be completely dry. After the clay completely dried it was time to paint. I started by painting the whole thing dark blue. In the drawing it Jack The Ripper was walking down a street. And back then in London East end (where all of the killings took place) that area was known for being a bad area. It was considered the slums. So I wanted to go for this dirty look when painting the street. When I finished painting I was basically done with the project but I ran into the problem of having my figures stand up by themselves. After talking with my teacher about it he suggested that I use wire to help them stand up. But before even solving this problem I still had to put my figures in the oven and paint them.

Project #4
Art: For art I wanted to make a painting about the great depression and whats happening today because of Covid. For my research I looked up and watched some videos about the great depression, and took notes. I didn't really need to do much research because I like to study history and already had a good understanding about the great depression. As for whats happening in todays time I also didn't have to do much research because I am living in this time and already know what's happening. I also did some research and took notes on Jacob Lawrence. I looked at many websites about his artwork, style, why he's famous, and what he painted about. I eventually came up with at least 4 pages of notes. When doing my painting I wanted to try and use the style that Jacob Lawrence used in his artwork. I started off by doing sketch's of what I wanted my painting to look like. But after my first two sketch's I realized that trying to copy his style wasn't that easy. I decided that I should try something else but for the longest time I couldn't decided what I wanted to do instead. I thought that it would be easier for me to type up an essay instead. But even though I made up my mind about doing the essay I still had my doubt's. I felt this way because I love being creative when it comes to my projects that I do for school. And I'm just a creative person as well. So deep down I wasn't satisfied with just doing an essay. But at the last minute I decided to just go ahead and do the painting. I looked at the my old sketch's to come up with a new idea for my painting. I started doing this painting over the weekend. I pulled out my last canvas that I owned and I started just sketching any picture on it that I could come up with at the moment. When I was done I was pretty pleased with what I had come up with. And now all I need to do is paint it. I could probably finish painting within a few hours. And then all I need to do is present my project.
English: This time for english I had to do my smartfutures for this project. I had a few options to pick from when it came to what I wanted to do, but I picked to type up a college research paper. A college research paper is when I write about and research what college's I want to go to and why. The other thing I had to do was fill out a resume. I started out my essay with a little introduction about myself and then I named three college thats I want to go to. For my paragraph I started out with Howard University. I talked about my lot of my family members on my mother side have went there. I stated a few facts about the college that I found while doing research on the college. Then in the second paragraph I wrote about my personal opinions that I have about the college. Meaning that I just talked about if after doing more research about the college if I still think it's a place I want to go. I did the same thing with all my other paragraphs by splitting the paragraphs by facts and personal opinion.

Social Studies: For social studies I wanted to do something that would compare the racism that Jacob Lawrence would face when he was younger and racism that black people face today. For my research I researched all kinds of events that happened when Jacob Lawrence was young and how that inspired some of his artwork. For my first idea I can't remember what I was thinking about but after meeting with my social studies teacher I was told that my idea wouldn't work. I was given advise about what I should do instead which was making a new law that would help or prevent some of racism that he faced. I didn't just want to make a new law, like I mentioned before I am a creative person and I need to do something creative. So I came up with the idea that I should make a book about the events that Jacob Lawrence had to go through and the current events. I originally was making my book on paper but I though that might be a bad idea because if I put something down that I don't want it won't be as easy to remove if I were doing it online. Half way through finishing the book is when I decided that I would do it online. So I transferred everything onto google slides. Then I threw the paper book away. After I had a meeting with my social studies teacher, he told me that to make my book more synthesis I should include the law idea that I was going to do. I made my last slide for the new law. After some thinking I decided that the best law I could come up with was to make a law so that people in power can't abuse their power to oppress a certain race.
